Um...yeah...so my new layout rocks. It's simple, it's blue, and it has really cool swirlies on the side. And I'm liking the font a lot. If only I had da skillz to be able to do this myself. But since I'm a kindergartener with ADD when it comes to computer literacy, I'm just going to give a massive, indescribable, shout-out thank you to Bonkrood. Spank you very, very much.
Today I went bowling with the school-age kids. We gathered in groups at the lanes with the blue bumpers in the gutters and put our names in the computer. Suddenly, the lights went off. I couldn't see, but I think there were fifty kids and 5 teachers staring around in blackened wonder. Suddenly, a disco light came on. The whole bowling alley filled up with flourescent and moving lights. And a stereo system blasted N'Sync. The other counselors, who were around my age, rolled their eyes and grumbled about how sick they were of boy bands and Top Forty pop music. Me? I danced in the alleys with fifty kids, learning the choreography to "Bye Bye Bye" from seven-year-olds. It was a lot of fun, especially watching the other counselors grimacing in the corner. Those girls need to stop being so negative for a few seconds and enjoy their job. It's not that hard to tolerate pop music. Kee-rist almighty...it's the music of our generation! Though I will tell you that I don't own a single Britney, Christina, BSB, or N'Sync CD. But that doesn't mean I'm going to roll my eyes and act like I'm too cool for it when it comes on the radio. Plus, the kids thought it was pretty cool that their old fogey counselor (who sometimes feels ancient at twenty) knows all the words to "Lady Marmalade." I never told them that I knew all the words years before the pathetic remake came out. You can't tell kids that what they like used to be done better long before.
After my lunch break, I was moved to the infant room. Eight crying babies. Ugh. Eight crying babies who barely move, they simply eat and sleep and shit, are more work than fifty school-age kids. I came home and took a fat nap. Now I'm going to go see Kevin.
One year ago, I went to a Cub's game.
